A lot of people seem to think you can cargo cult a functioning democracy by insisting on the trappings and rituals of one.
Persuasive dialogue is intensive. It requires building a meaningful relationship among the participants as a starting point. If dialogue didn’t work then organizing and proselytization would be impossible.
Really, though, it’s going to take something closer to deprogramming to make a dent on some of these folks.
