“That’s how it is on this bitch of an earth”

I like this:
“But—(hand raised in admonition)—but behind this veil of gentleness and peace, night is charging (vibrantly) and will burst upon us (snaps his fingers) pop! like that! (his inspiration leaves him) just when we least expect it. (Silence. Gloomily.) That’s how it is on this bitch of an earth”…The variation in these comments makes the subject matter of Waiting for Godot somewhat rare; a combination of the absurdly mundane and the inaccessibly cerebral.//
Some things, MHO essential things, seem to be left for one to puzzle and ponder about without full understanding: such as Jesus knowing that he was abandoned shortly before giving up the ghost. Did he rise again to life after days being dead? I don’t know! Only know I and some of my fellow alcoholics/drug addicts live sober day after day, year after year and find some kind of joy in escaping a hideous lonely death. To be honest the big picture overwhelms me!
